The
primary target readership of this book is students and teachers of architecture,
and secondarily, other professionals and interested individuals. The
aim is to show the basic problems, which make up the material of architecture,
from the point of view of the creation and development of the project.
It draws mainly on particularly significant cases, which show from different
angles some of the questions and problems architecture has asked itself
throughout history. The cases analyzed and described, including the
Pantheon, in Rome, the Alhambra, and the Barcelona Pavilion, are illustrated
with graphics and bibliographical references for further study, and
complemented with a series of introductory essays and a short anthology
of theoretical texts.
