Pezo
von Ellrichshausen 21,6 x 29 cm 80 pp, color, paperback ISBN Nº 978-956-14-0949-1 Santiago de Chile, 2007 Text: spanish / english It seems that architects should avoid formal restrictions, usually imposed by the client. Nevertheless, Pezo and von Ellrichshausen have decided to work using a limited set of resources, also convincing their clients about it. These are precise, severe pieces of architecture: unencumbered, cubic houses; monomaterial structures in concrete, steel or wood and double-wall perimeters that improve insulation properties and hide staircases, storage and service areas. But their parsimony disappears in plans and cross-sections, where they develop a particular take on each commission offering unexpected situations to the inhabitant; carefully adjusted, interior spaces relate to one another and to the exterior landscape. Good judgment in architecture is a rare virtue, achieved here. |
